MOVING AND HANDLING – SAFE MOVING OF OBJECTS AND PEOPLE
If you work in a health and social care setting then probably you will spend a high proportion of your time moving and handling patients and objects. In the cases where you are using specialist equipment, such as hoists and electric profiling beds (EPBs), to simply helping a patient to move into and out of their wheelchair, it is fundamentally important that you understand how to carry out the task safely and correctly.
This Moving and Handling course will provide you with an introduction to safe manual handling practices so that you know how to carry out an individual risk assessment, use equipment safely, reduce the likelihood of developing musculoskeletal disorders and always keep your patients comfort and safety at the forefront.
Due to the practical nature of the course it is limited in attendance to 12 people at any one time.
This course will be of interest to anyone interested learning about or whose job involves the manual handling and moving of objects and or people.
No previous knowledge, training or experience is required.
Continuous assessments will be used to assess the participant’s progress throughout the course.
