Venepuncture Phlebotomy training courses are aimed at those working in a clinical or healthcare setting such as registered nurses, phlebotomist’s, medical practitioners and healthcare professionals. This could include those responsible for obtaining blood from patients such as babies, adults and older people with duties including monitoring medication levels, treatments, screening and interventions.
These courses are suitable for a range of organisations such as the NHS, GP practices, universities, blood banks, research facilities, public and private healthcare.
Due to the practical nature of the course it is limited in attendance to 12 people at any one time.
The course is open to anyone needing to learn the skills required to undertake venepuncture or phlebotomy as part of their occupation.
Skills acquisition will be demonstrated, developed and practised and assessed using an adult venepuncture/phlebotomy simulation arm.
No previous knowledge, training or experience is required.
Continuous assessments will be used to assess the participant’s progress throughout the course.
Each participant will be assessed in undertaking the skill.
A Certificate of attendance will be issued on successful completion of the course.
